Normally, when you need to switch your focus from one window pane to the other one, you need to click on the desired window pane with the mouse in Windows Vista.
In few computing situations, the focus automatically transfers between the two windows only by hovering upon those windows with the help of mouse pointer. This means that if you are working on a Window and have another open and can see it, you can simply hover over it to activate it. The other window will be put to the back until you decide to hover over it and make it active.
Windows Vista provides accessible tools which offer this hovering feature which will save your precious time when you are working on multiple windows at the same time. You can activate this setting by following these easy steps.

How to Activate Windows by Hovering Over them:

1. Select the Start button and in the search box type “ease of access”.
2. You will see the “Ease of Access Center” link as a result and just click on it.
3. As the window of the “Ease of Access Center” appears, you need to scroll down in order to find “Explore all settings” and then select “Make the mouse easier to use“.
4. As the mouse settings popup, check mark the option “Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse“.
5. Then select the “Save” button in order to activate the defined feature, you will have to scroll down in order to find this save button.
6. Finally close the “Ease of Access Center” dialog box and you are done!
Follow the above easy steps and change the settings of your computer according to your needs. This setting should not be used for beginners as they often get confused as to what window they are on. It is too easy to activate another window and they often wonder what is happening.
