The company Digirit, specializing in the creation of electronic accessories, is the origin of this innovation that marketing must begin in early 2014 with the support of a campaign of pre-orders on the crowd funding site HWTrek.

The system is based on a dual-purpose shell. The first is common to all cases; it is to protect the iPhone. The second is the one that interests you: the shell has a kind of drawer that can accommodate two SIM cards.

Two SIM Cards to Your iPhone

Particularly, to install the shell, you must first remove the SIM card from the iPhone 5. The users with two SIM cards can then install them in the space provided for this purpose in the removable part of the SIM + Digirit shell. This part should then be attached to the rest of the hull, and this is how an iPhone 5 becomes “Dual-Sim“.

The engineers behind this system have also developed a mini software allows the iPhone to recognize the new state of Dual-Sim smartphone. Thus, the user of the system, it is possible to switch between two SIM cards from the iPhone 5 through the settings.
